Find your way in the Academic Commons and the Curriculum Resource Center.
The SU Libraries offer many different types of spaces where you can study, whether you need a place offering complete silence or an active environment with lots of activity.
Printing is available in all SU Libraries locations, including on every floor of the Guerrieri Academic Commons. Scanning is available on the first floor of the GAC and in the Curriculum Resource Center. Faxing is available from the scanning stations in the GAC.
The SU Libraries offers many different types of equipment that are available for checkout in the Guerrieri Academic Commons.
From the Library Service Desk, you can check out:
Laptops
Chromebooks
Charging kits (charging cables for phones with portable batteries)
MacBook chargers
Scientific and graphing calculators
Headphones (standard and noise-canceling)
HDMI adapters
External DVD drives and Blu-Ray players
Please note that due to the wide variety of different charging standards for Windows laptops, we do not offer power cords for Windows devices at this time.
iPads with Apple Pencils and keyboards are also available for check out from the SU Libraries MakerLab.
Each study room in the Guerrieri Academic Commons includes a large TV that can be used as a shared screen. You can wirelessly cast from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone, or connect using the supplied HDMI cable. Note that the study rooms don't have computers, so be sure to bring your own device or check out a laptop from the Library Service Desk.
Study rooms can be booked online through our website, through the SU Libraries App (iOS and Android), or using the screen mounted outside each room. These screens display current and upcoming reservations so you can easily see when a room is available. Rooms without a reservation are open on a first come, first served basis.
All study rooms are also equipped with at least one whiteboard. Dry erase markers are available for checkout at the Library Service Desk on the first floor.
The SU Libraries MakerLab offers multiple types of 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, lamination, button making, and more. Visit us to get a free consultation and learn what's possible!
The Guerrieri Academic Commons and the Curriculum Resource Center have been designed with accessibility in mind. All areas of these buildings are accessible to patrons with limited mobility, and all of the buildings' entrances have ramps. If you find that any areas of these buildings are not as accessible as they should be, please speak to a staff member at a library service desk to let us know and to get assistance.
For those with visual impairments, we offer a number of services to allow you to use our resources more easily. There is a available on the third floor (near the entrance to the HG-Z stacks). This digital magnifier can be used to enlarge and increase the contrast of books and other documents through a live video feed to the attached monitor (note it does not create digital scans of the content that can be saved to view later). Scanners with optical character recognition (OCR) technology are also available on the first floor in each of the printing alcoves (near classrooms 117 and 162), allowing you to create screen reader-compatible files from our print resources.
For those that need quiet spaces to work or study, the third floor stacks areas are designated quiet spaces. In addition, noise-canceling headphones are available for checkout from the Library Services Desk.
If you need additional accommodations to fully utilize any library space or service, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are happy to work with you to ensure you can get the most our of the SU Libraries.
