Accessibility & Accommodations

The Guerrieri Academic Commons and the Curriculum Resource Center have been designed with accessibility in mind. All areas of these buildings are accessible to patrons with limited mobility, and all of the buildings' entrances have ramps. If you find that any areas of these buildings are not as accessible as they should be, please speak to a staff member at a library service desk to let us know and to get assistance.

For those with visual impairments, we offer a number of services to allow you to use our resources more easily. There is a available on the third floor (near the entrance to the HG-Z stacks). This digital magnifier can be used to enlarge and increase the contrast of books and other documents through a live video feed to the attached monitor (note it does not create digital scans of the content that can be saved to view later). Scanners with optical character recognition (OCR) technology are also available on the first floor in each of the printing alcoves (near classrooms 117 and 162), allowing you to create screen reader-compatible files from our print resources.

For those that need quiet spaces to work or study, the third floor stacks areas are designated quiet spaces. In addition, noise-canceling headphones are available for checkout from the Library Services Desk.

If you need additional accommodations to fully utilize any library space or service, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are happy to work with you to ensure you can get the most our of the SU Libraries.
