Library Instructional Services

Research librarians collaborate with faculty across hundreds of courses each year to teach research and information literacy skills in the context of specific assignments and disciplines. We offer in-person or online sessions on research strategies, technology tools, and primary sources. Our goal: help students succeed through tailored instruction and resource support.

Faculty-Librarian Collaboration: Advancing Student Learning Together

Faculty and research librarians bring complementary expertise to the mission of helping students learn and succeed — when we collaborate, we create richer, more engaging, and more effective learning experiences. By working together, librarians can assist course instructors with:

  • Aligning course content and assignments with Information Literacy student learning outcomes
  • Designing research-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking
  • Co-creating assignments that align with disciplinary standards and library resources
