American Heart Association (AHA) Courses
Below are the AHA courses currently offered by the Richard A. Henson Medical Simulation Center.
All fees must be paid by cash or check on the day of training. Class size is strictly limited to 6 students per session. A 48-hour cancellation notice is required. Participants who do not provide adequate notice will not be eligible to reschedule at the Simulation Center.

AHA HeartCode® Basic Life Support (BLS) Hands-on Session
Complete the required hands-on skill practice and testing for AHA HeartCode BLS certification. This session is intended for participants who have already completed the online HeartCode BLS course. Successful completion of both the online course and hands-on session is required to receive an AHA BLS Provider certification valid for two years.
Please note: The online HeartCode BLS course must be purchased and completed separately through the American Heart Association ( ). Participants should complete the hands-on session within 30 days of finishing the online course and must present their HeartCode BLS completion certificate at the time of the session.

AHA BLS Provider Full Course
This instructor-led in-person course is designed for healthcare professionals and Salisbury University College of Health and Human Services students. Participants will learn the essential skills of high-quality CPR, AED use, and team-based response to life-threatening emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification, which is required for many clinical settings.

AHA BLS Provider Renewal Course
This in-person course is designed for healthcare professionals and Salisbury University College of Health and Human Services students who currently hold an American Heart Association BLS certification. Participants will review and practice essential skills in high-quality CPR, AED use, and team-based response to life-threatening emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.

AHA Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Course
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is designed for individuals with little or no medical training. This in-person course teaches participants how to provide first aid, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and safety and effectively use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Instruction focuses on recognizing emergencies, responding appropriately, and providing immediate care for medical, injury, and environmental situations until professional help arrives.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card valid for two years.
